first sign of spring....

After a cold, gray winter, any sign of color is celebrated.
These crocuses gave me hope that my now brown yard can be bright and colorful sometime soon.
Happy Spring!

Got Pop?

You should've seen me pushing the cart...

Joey's joy ride

We decided to bring joey along to a family gathering, because our family loves him and always asks about him. My niece Kate has even been moved to tears worrying about the cat. If you've never had the pleasure of meeting joey, you're missing out; he really has quite the personality. Riding in the car was not exactly a walk in the park for him, and I now fully understand the expression "nervous as a cat." Despite his anxiety, he was determined to figure out where we were going and why. I don't think we'll be taking another road trip any time soon.

i love easter so much i could dye

Who can resist the bright colors, smooth eggs, and smell of vinegar at Easter? Not I, that's for sure. Dyeing eggs is one of my favorite traditions, one which I will never outgrow. I research new ideas and methods every year, yet I seem to stick to my traditional two-tones or the old rubber band trick. But I'm still proud of my little eggs.

My Nest Egg

With St. Patrick's Day today, and Easter next Sunday, I was feeling very "spring-y." So what do I do when I want to celebrate any type of occasion? I bake. Baking always brings me a good feeling and it's one of my favorite ways to spend free time. I decided to take some of my goodies to The Children's Hour for them to sell to their stylish customers. So please stop in, grap a cupcake, and a great book or cute pair of shoes while you're at it.

Butterflies in the sky....

Dave and I visited Denver for Valentine's Day and had a great time visiting family and friends. The Butterfly Pavillion is home to a variety of creatures including spiders, roaches, star fish, birds, and of course, butterflies. I even had the courage to hold a gigantic triantula named Rosie in my hand! Take a look at some of the amazing animals.

Our little niece Lucie wanted to touch, feel, and grab everything that moved. Usually they flew away, but she almost caught this pretty bird! In the picture below, take notice of the lovey-dovey couple in the background. About 15 seconds after we took the picture, he knelt down and proposed! I wouldn't describe this animal sanctuary as "romantic," but at least it is pretty (but not so beautiful by the fire exit emergency door.)

Fan Mail

I found this on my car Saturday morning after work. The parking stalls at the hospital are a little close together, but it's not like I hit somebody's car or something! And this is the thanks I get after working all night long? At least it gave me a good laugh.
